Most people don’t know this, but I also am a digital musician. I don’t play any instruments . . . rather I just plonk out the melody I hear in my head on a MIDI controller, and then use Finale or Sibelius to finish — by clicking nots on the staff in accordance with what I “hear” as well as the rules of basic music theory. What comes out, after all the composing, mixing, and mastering (usually done using either Logic Pro or Studio One Professional), what you get is something like this:
